Well, trying to figure out just what ring tones my cell phone will now have is a very big decision. I have decides upon "My Humps" and "Popular" (cause I was always a geek)! Pretty strange as I am a 40 something mom, but, I like the beat and it is a song that makes me smile!
Well, Bye-Bye Birdie is going well and we seem to be on task with the set as well as costumes. I am pretty excited and will be glad when it this season is over...I am pretty tired.
My Assistant has resigned and hopefully I will be able to post the job this coming week and get someone on board for the musical. Watch the JJC website at www.jjc.edu in Human Resources for this position to appear if any of you, dear readers want to apply!
Children, sister, brother and even husband are well. Sister really cracks me up, especially when we are doing "EDisms". Good times, good times.
At Mass today, we really got our Sunday worth of worship and thought. Fr. Roc had mass and commented upon the Bishop's letter to the Diocese. Mass went 1 hour and 10 minutes and I felt renewed, especially in the face of more allegations and victims speaking out. For a "regretful" letter, I did not hear any apologies, just a lot of "regret". I pray for the victims, both the truly accused as well as falsely accused priests (Like the deceased Fr. Dave Stalzer) and the men who tried to sweep it under the rug. That is why the Catholic Church has gotten so much publicity. These Bishops and the priest's supervisors, kept hiding and protecting these sick-o's and now that they are caught, they act surprised. I hope that the perverts that hurt these children, some that are now adults, will get their punishment, be it in this world or the next. There is too much ugly in the world without having these people abuse their leadership roles and hurt the innocent. We Catholics CANNOT stop talking about this even if we are "tired of hearing about it" as someone said to me. It must stay in the foreground as we need to get these men OUT and these victims healed.
If any of you dear readers are a victim of a sexual predator, please report it to the police immediately as well as the victim's advocate at the diocese. The following website provides answers and help to victims of abuse by priests and nuns. It is www.snapnetwork.org. They are a network of survivors of abuse. This, too, can help in the healing and getting the dangerous ones away from our children!
Kind of ironic that I just finished a book by Fr. Andrew Greeley that fictionalized a diocese in the Midwest dealing with sexual abuse.
Whew! That tired me out.
Please keep Mr. Andres, Fr. Tim Andres father, in your prayers as well as his family, as he passed away Wednesday, February 1 after a lingering illness. The Wake is today and the funeral tomorrow. Call me if you need the address. May his soul and the souls of the faithfully departed rest in peace. Amen.
